Bharatiya Janata Party camp erupts into celebrations

As results of Haryana and Maharashtra assembly elections started pouring in since Sunday morning and the Bharatiya Janata Party emerged as the single largest party in both the states, the jubilant local unit BJP leaders and workers celebrated the comprehensive victory by bursting crackers and dancing on the beats of drums.

The atmosphere at the local BJP office at Khanna Samarak was filled with bursting of crackers, drumbeats and dances and exchange of sweets.

Party workers thronged Khanna Samarak in big number to be part of this pre-Diwali spectacle with the BJP winning 47 out of the 90 assembly seats in Haryana and 119 seats out of 288 seats in Maharashtra. In Maharashtra, the party was leading on three seats the counting for which were on till the filing of the report.

During the celebration, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and BJP president Amit Shah acquired the centre stage with party workers holding their posters and raising slogans in their praise.

Similarly, the atmosphere was electrifying at the camp office of Punjab local bodies minister Anil Joshi, who joined the celebrations with party workers and danced with them to express his happiness.

Crediting the Prime Minister and the BJP president for this comprehensive victory, Joshi said: “During the recent-conclude Lok Sabha polls, we saw the entire nation in the grip of the Modi wave; however, the poll results in Haryana and Maharashtra have further buttressed this fact.”

Talking about the party’s performance in Haryana, Joshi said: “In Haryana, the party had no major presence earlier, but the way Amit Shah strengthened the party and captured the rural vote banks it indicated the strength of his leadership.”

BJP national secretary Tarun Chugh termed this victory “a historic win”, saying, “The way the Modi government performed in the past few months, it gave the nation a big hope. The Haryana result is an indicative of the fact that how people are backing the BJP.”

Meanwhile, district BJP chief Naresh Sharma congratulated party workers over the triumph.
