Caught on camera: Inquiry initiated against cop

Police on Tuesday swung into action and initiated an inquiry against head constable Suresh Kumar of the Ladhowal police station, who was caught red-handed on camera accepting bribe.

Police on Tuesday swung into action and initiated an inquiry against head constable Suresh Kumar of the Ladhowal police station, who was caught red-handed on camera accepting bribe.

The police also recorded the statements of the complainant and accused in the case after HT highlighted the issue on Tuesday.

Assistant commissioner of police (Gill) Gurpreet Singh Walia, who is investigating the matter, said they would take appropriate action against the accused after the inquiry was completed.

Complainant Satnam Singh, president of Anti Crime and Lok Bhalai Trust, met police commissioner Paramjit Singh Gill on Monday and apprised him of the video recording featuring a cop accepting bribe to settle a case. He had sought action against the cop.
