Continuous four days of showers brought down more than half a dozen old buildings on Sunday and left almost all localities in this industrial town flooded.

The water entered houses at Dharampura Colony, Shastri Nagar, Bank Colony, and on the streets, many two-wheelers were stuck. The old buildings that collapsed were in various localities. The increasing water level in the choked Hansli drain, otherwise a lifeline of Batala during flood, has created a threat of breach and flooding the entire city.
