Day after fire at textile factory, now cycle parts factory catches fire in Ludhiana
A day after a fire broke out in a textile factory in Ludhiana, another fire was reported in a cycle parts factory Daman Enterprises on Gill Road on Sunday afternoon.
Seven fire tenders were rushed to the spot and later three more were called later. It took them more than two hours to douse the fire.
Sources said someone had set afire garbage at a vacant plot next to the factory. The fire spread and engulfed the factory as well.
No casualties were reported. However, a loss of around Rs 18 lakh was estimated as computers, laptops, company products and records were gutted in the fire.
On Saturday afternoon, a fire broke out at the textile factory in Daulat Nagar Colony near Basti Jodhewal. So intense was the blaze that it caused extensive damage to the adjacent buildings. The fire officials struggled for four hours to douse the flames. While no one was injured in the incident, the losses were pegged at more than Rs 70 lakh.
