The last date is August 21 (with late fee of Rs 1,000) and August 30 (with late fee of Rs 2,000).Talking to Hindustan Times, Suresh Tandon, vice-chairman, PSEB, said, "In the interest of students, we have extended the date. No further extension will be granted. We want more and more students to apply and get admitted in government schools. The system of online registration, started this year, will smoothen the process."

However, a section of school principals have expressed resentment over the board's move.

A principal of a government school, speaking on the condition of anonymity, said, "We started the admission process on May 15 and had to send the continuation fee till May 30. Since then, three extensions have been granted so far. Teachers of classes 9 to 12 have been busy with the registration and continuation process since May. When will they start taking classes?"
