Strong winds damage Tricolour in Jalandhar

The height of the flagpost is approximately 100 feet and was hoisted just before the Punjab assembly elections in February. Rs 15 lakh was spent on its construction.
Mayor Sunil Jyoti was informed about the damaged flag by Hindustan Times at 7.50 am. Despite this, the flag had not been brought down till 12 pm.
Following this, the mayor was unreachable for a comment.
Superintendent engineer (building and road ) Kulwinder Singh told HT that authorities have talked to the company that has installed the flag and that they have been assured that the flag will be changed at the earliest.
Meanwhile, residents near Company Bagh Chowk accused authorities of a lackadaisical attitude towards the Tricolour.
