Swami Vivekananda Sandesh Yatra visited Ludhiana College of Engineering and Technology (LCET), Katani Kalan, on Thursday to encourage the youth by the life story and messages of Swami Vivekananda.

The Yatra has been organised to commemorate the 150th birth anniversary of youth legend Swami Vivekananda. The main objective of the yatra is to make the youth aware “Only youth can bring a change in our country”.

Swami Vivekananda was inclined towards spiritually. He was influenced by his guru Ramakrishna, from whom he learnt that all living being were an embodiment of the divine self, therefore service to god could be rendered by service to mankind.

While welcoming the guest Pawan Kumar, principal of LCET said that Swami Vivekananda was the epitome of spirit of nationalism, moral character, self-discipline and ethical and spiritual values.

The youth, he said, needs to inculcate these values to attain everlasting bliss and complacency.

Vishal Jain, head of the yatra, motivated the students and faculty members saying that Swami Vivekananda was the first Indian who represented and introduced spiritualism of Indian and Hindu culture to materialistic West.

JS Sohal, director, and VK Gupta, chairman of LCET, along with faculty and students extended a warm welcome to the convoy.
