Some of the major intersections such as Custom Chowk, GT Road have become a chaotic, creating inconvenience to commuters.
As the holy city is undergoing major development work these days, traffic congestion has increased manifold with construction material lying on the roadsides. And the absence or non- functional traffic lights only add to the woes on road and increase the risk of accidents.
Complaining about the state of traffic Richa Verma, a student said, “The people of the city lack traffic sense and if the traffic lights also don’t work, especially near the railway station, it only worsens the situation.
Another resident Kuldeep Davessar said, “What is the point of developing the city, putting up new poles and causing problem to the commuters? There should be a proper system for everything.”
