Jai Simha will be Nandamuri Balakrishna’s 102nd film.

Actor Nandamuri Balakrishna’s next film with director KS Ravi Kumar was rumoured to be titled Karna for a long time. Putting all speculations to rest, it has been confirmed that the film, which is gearing up for Sankranti 2018 release, has been titled Jai Simha. Interestingly, the film joins the long list Simha-centric film titles in Balakrishna’s career. In fact, one of his last blockbusters, directed by Boyapati Srinu, was titled Simhaa.

Talking to Deccan Chronicle, Ravi Kumar said: “We never chose or thought about the title Karna. Probably it came out when we registered a few titles, but it is not the final title for our film.” He added that the name of the film, Jai Simha will be officially announced soon after it is discussed with Balakrishna.” The film, briefly, was also rumoured to be titled Jai Balayya. However, the makers have clarified that they have zeroed in on the title Jai Simha.

The project happens to be Balakrishna’s 102nd film and it reunites him with Nayanthara for the third time after blockbusters such as Simhaa and Sri Rama Rajyam. While he was seen in a full-length mass-appealing avatar in his last outing Paisa Vasool, his role in this film has been kept a mystery. This film marks Balakrishna’s first time collaboration with Ravi Kumar, who has been planning a film with the former for a long time.
