Veteran Telugu actor JV Ramana Murthy dies at 83

JV Ramana Murthywent on to do 150 films including Maro Charitra, Gorintaku, Aakali Rajyam, Batasaari, Saptapadi, Shubalekha, Sirivennela and Ananda Bhairavi. He died on Wednesday at the age of 83.

Veteran Telugu actor JV Ramana Murthy died on Wednesday after a brief stay in hospital. The actor was 83.

According to reports, the actor was undergoing treatment for a heart related illness. Brother of popular Telugu actor, JV Somayajulu, Murthy started acting in plays when he was a child. He made his Telugu cinema debut in 1957 with the film, MLA.

The actor went on to do 150 films including Maro Charitra, Gorintaku, Aakali Rajyam, Batasaari, Saptapadi, Shubalekha, Sirivennela and Ananda Bhairavi. He is best remembered for playing Girisam in the cult play, Kanyasulkam.
