Vikram’s I crosses Rs 200 crore mark, eyeing Endhiran record
Shankar's Tamil film, I, has hit the bull's eye, and how. Twenty days since its release, on Pongal day, reports suggest that this Vikram-starrer has joined the elite Rs 200 crore collection club. Fresh estimates suggest it is on course to overtake Shankar's Endhiran (Rs 256 crore) in overall business. According to reports, the film’s major chunk of business has come from Tamil Nadu, followed by Andhra Pradesh.
I did exceptionally well in the international market as well, with the US and Malaysian ticket windows leading in collections, followed by UK, Canada and Australia/New Zealand.
Its Hindi dubbed version, however, couldn't dent the record set by Rajinikanth’s Endhiran/Robot. This despite the fact that both the lead faces of the film – Vikram and Amy Jackson – are recognizable to Hindi film audience.
