Made to seem drugs from whole world are in Maharashtra: CM Uddhav Thackeray

Chief minister Uddhav Thackeray on Friday said that an atmosphere has been created as if drugs from the whole world have been brought only in Maharashtra and the attempts to discredit the reputation of Mumbai Police need to end.
Thackeray made the remarks while virtually inaugurating three fast-track DNA testing units under the Nirbhaya scheme to test human DNA samples, which will help in gathering concrete evidence and increase the efficiency of criminal investigations. He also launched the country’s first wildlife DNA testing laboratory in Nagpur.

Mumbai Police bans Eid-e-Milad processions owing to Covid-19, except 2 locations

In the regions where the ban is not applicable, only five trucks will be allowed to participate in the processions, carrying a maximum of five individuals in each vehicle. However, prior permission from police and adherence to Covid-19 protocols are mandatory.
Mumbai Police said the decision to ban Eid-e-Milad procession, except in two places, was made in order to contain the spread of the Covid-19 virus, and also to break the virus’ chain of transmission effectively.

Mumbai cyber police summon CBI chief in data leak case

Earlier the cyber police recorded the statement of senior Indian Police Service (IPS) officer Rashmi Shukla in connection with the same matter in May 2021.
