Google has announced that it will be shutting down it's social networking site Orkut on September 30. Orkut marked the dawn of social-networking for an entire generation in India, years before the netizens caught onto the Facebook fever.
This was the time when special characters were a part of every profile name. Conversations didn't take part on walls, but through scraps. Those were the days when it was easier to do 'Fraandship' with a pretty girl or handsome boy.
