Making New Inroads in Research and Innovation

Across its 20-year journey with many a milestone to its credit, Manav Rachna University has taken on the challenge of yielding applicable knowledge and dedicating itself towards path-breaking Research and Development initiatives.

Since the introduction of its ‘Research Integrated Programmes’, Manav Rachna University has catapulted to the top leagues of innovation-driven institutions in the country. Students at the university can engage with patent filings and start-ups, along with constant mentoring from science, engineering, and management communicators. In addition, there are several labs set up by leading companies such as Mitsubishi, Sukam, Honda Motorcycle, and Scooter India in the broad areas of power electronics, solar energy and automotives. The institution also houses the Manav Rachna Innovation and Incubation Centre (MRIIC), Seven Centres of Excellence (CEs), and two Research & Innovation Clusters (RICs). That apart, six Research & Innovation Clusters (RICs), one Centre of Excellence and a Business Incubator are in progress. Talented and exuberant young students are nurtured to incubate their dream projects at these centres.

The overall eight Research and Innovation Clusters, namely Mechanical, Automobile & Aerospace, Electronics & Electrical, Computing, Molecular Biosciences, Health Sciences & Nutrition, Civil & Architecture Design, Material Science, and Atmospheric & Environmental Sciences are aimed at cluster research projects. In addition, there are activities such as Competitions and Projects, Publishing, Sponsored R&D projects, Training in Advanced Areas or future technologies, Industry Linkages, Collaboration & Consultancy and Patents & IPR. Presently, 70+ alumni startups are running their ventures, along with three startups started by Manav Rachna students, and over 10 ongoing startups, which are functioning day and night to actualize the dreams of budding innovators.

Manav Rachna’s eight Centres of Excellence (CEs) are in collaboration with reputed industries, most notably the Smart Energy Centre under Su-KAM, SAP Centre, Mitsubishi Centre, Sky Testers Centre, Automotive Training & Research Centre under Honda Motors, Water Conservation and Management Centre, Sports Science & Rehabilitation Centre and Reliance Jio Centre—all of which are geared towards enhancing the training and research skills of students. The institution also enjoys a rich legacy of 252 filed patents and 3300+ published research papers in national and international journals and has tied up with 40+ foreign universities apart from IOCL, Faridabad; THSTI, Faridabad; Indian CSIR-IIP, Dehradun and NII, New Delhi for research and innovation.
