If the city’s lack of accessible golf courses has been a deterrent so far, here’s an initiative that will let you pursue the sport, albeit in a smaller format. Golf Mania specialises in setting up putting installations and hosting golf events that can be held on real courses or even indoors — your rooftop, party hall or even your office.

“Golf as a sport is growing rapidly in India, but lack of space is a constraint,” says Pooja Jangla, founder of Golf Mania. “What we offer is a portable putting installation that can be set up wherever you like. Since there aren’t too many public courses in Mumbai, it becomes difficult to pursue the sport, making this an ideal option.”

In operation for about two months now, Jangla’s company has set up mini golf courses at several corporate events and even a birthday party. “We offer several themes that are modified using props, obstacles and even glow-in-the-dark objects. The response has been amazing,” she says. Next, Jangla wants to organise tournaments and charity putt-a-thons too.
