Age may just be a number, yet, everyone knows you should always tread carefully when guessing someone's age. However, it looks like Microsoft missed that memo.

In case you've been living under a rock, an age-guessing app is moving through Twitter and Facebook feeds like wildfire. Microsoft has shared a demo of a new web app,, which guesses your age from a photo. It also guesses your gender.

But social media peeps (us included) are not impressed.

The innovative piece of technology and latest internet craze has turned out to be just a good way for people to have fun and waste time trying to outsmart a computer. Provide with a well-lit, flattering photo and it usually comes up with a fairly accurate result – give or take a few years. But mostly, Microsoft’s algorithm suspects you as being much older than you really are.

To test the app out, we asked it to guess the age of a bunch of celebs. And here’s what we found.

Albert Einstein died when he was 76-years-old. He couldn't possibly have used his theory of relativity to extend the longevity of his life, right?

The Terminator, even at 67,can give the younger ones like Zac Efron, Robert Pattinson a run for their money. However, Microsoft thinks Arnold Schwarzenegger is 78.

Yo Yo Honey Singh is just 32! Expect a song with abuses to hit the charts as soon as he sees finds out his age according to this app.

Seriously, Microsoft? You think Saif Ali Khan's 71 years old?

And Kim Jong-un is a 22-year-old WOMAN. *headdesk*

Mukesh Ambani's 58 years old. He needn't be so glum about it, right? Nita Ambani, on the other hand,is all smiles about how young Microsoft thinks she is!

Close enough, Narendra Modi is 64 and Barack Obama is 53. Guess Microsoft couldn't really afford to mess up with their ages too much!

He's young at heart and his ideas are fresh, still, Pope Francis is 78 years old, not 66.'s prediction was close in the case of Radhika Apte, the woman we all frantically searched on Google after she shot into limelight about a month back. She is 29 years old. An error of two years is pardonable.

Ha! He went for a long leave and came back four years younger!? Rahul Gandhi is 44 years old.

Rajnikanth is 64 years old! The app got this almost correct... out of fear? However, with make up on, he does look much younger. We don't blame the app for pinning his age at 52.

The living legends of cricket - Tendulkar, Dravid, Laxman and Ganguly. Almost correct except for Dada.

What, the Khans are in their 40s? They really need to stop taking up college kids' roles.

The app thinks AbRam is a girl. Just because he has long hair? years off the mark. Sunny Leone is 33 years old.

They are almost ten years younger than what was predicted. Atleast they are 'together' in everything.
