A few days ahead of the release of 'The Sims 4,' EA and Maxi have unveiled a new trailer that speaks the language of social networking.

Smarter, more expressive and more attractive than their predecessors, the next-generation Sims will arrive on PC in two weeks. The latest edition of the game is the first to allow players to control their avatars' emotions as well as customizing their personalities.

This means the new Sims can take on unique moods and attitudes, as suggested by this video showing a series of avatars labeled with real-world hashtags. The Sims' appearance is more customizable too, as players can click and drag directly on an avatar's body to make endless adjustments. There are also expanded options for choosing ethnic characteristics and defining the way the Sims sound and walk.

Eager fans can already download a demo to create their new avatar, which they can then put into play once the game launches.

Due for release on September 4, 'The Sims 4' is the follow-up to the previous version, which has been on the market since 2010. Over its 13 years of existence, 'The Sims' has become the best-selling PC game franchise of all time, with over 175 million copies sold.
