Apple News+ subscription service with access to over 300 publications launched

Apple News is getting a big makeover. The platform will now host content from magazines like The New Yorker, Vogue, Rolling Stone, Variety and more. Apple’s magazine subscription service will be called “Apple News Plus”.
Apple News Plus will offer over 300 magazines across different topics like entertainment, fashion, news, politics, health and lifestyle. All these magazines will be offered in one package. The magazine subscription service will have a similar layout like the original Apple News. Users who subscribe to the service will get access to the latest issues, and also digital live covers of magazines.
“All Apple News users in the US, Canada, UK and Australia can continue to enjoy the free news experience within the app on iPhone, iPad and Mac, including access to Top Stories, Trending Stories and a personalized feed of articles,” said Apple.
Apple News Plus will also have premium digital subscriptions like The Skimm. Apple has also introduced newspapers like Los Angeles Times and The Wall Street Journal on the updated Apple News Plus.
Apple also assures security saying that advertisers will not track users Apple News Plus will be available in the US for $9.99 per month. Apple is also offering family sharing at no extra charge and with dedicated profiles for saved content. Also, the first month of Apple News Plus will be free for users. To sign up for Apple News+, customers need update to iOS 12.2 or macOS 10.14.4.
