Cameras on modern smartphones are becoming quite advanced. Modern phones come with a slew of high-end features and built-in applications, not all phones support time lapse and slow motion.
Fortunately, there are a lot of third-party applications that allow you to shoot time lapse and slow motion videos on your Android smartphone or iPhone. Beyond timelapse or slow motion effects, these apps provide additional features to enhance your videos.
Here’s a look at the applications that let you take timelapse or slow motion apps on your smartphone.
Lapse It is available for both Android and iOS platforms. Lapse It comes with editing tools such as setting the frame per second (fps) time between milliseconds, seconds, and minutes. You can also choose the resolution for your video between 360p and 480p. Lapse It also gives you many different features to add and change ranging from focus mode, ISO mode, color effects, auto exposure, among others.
You can also make a Lapse IT account and post videos in the community’s feed. There’s a pro version of Lapse It which is priced at Rs 180 on Google Play Store, and Rs 250 on the App Store. The paid version naturally comes with more options such as adding music to your videos, and increasing the resolution to full HD (1080p).
Framelapse is available only for Android users. Unlike Lapse It, Frame Lapse comes with a minimal layout and functions as well. You can set recording duration for your videos at 1, 5, 10, and 30 minute intervals. Similarly, you can set duration at seconds also for 3, 7, 10, and 30. Framelapse also gives you the option to set video recording resolution at full HD (1080p).
Note that the video quality will also depend upon your smartphone camera’s capabilities. More options like sleep mode and camera grid are available in the pro version which is priced at Rs 190. In the free version, videos can be recorded only in landscape mode.

As the name suggests, you can share the hyperlapse videos from the app to Instagram and other platforms like WhatsApp and Facebook.
