Facebook has a new feature for its ‘Live Video’ platform which will let users lip sync to popular songs. Called ‘Lip Sync Live’, this feature is quite similar to the once viral ‘Dubsmash’ platform and the popular ‘musical.ly’ app.

Facebook has partnered with companies in the music industry to get popular songs on the social media platform. Facebook is currently testing this feature in some markets with a global rollout expected soon.

How to use Facebook’s Lip Sync Live

This feature is available under Live Video on Facebook. You should see it below on the tab along with other features.

Select a song of your choice from the pre-loaded list. At present Facebook offers popular songs like Ed Sheeran’s Happier, Drake’s God’s Plan, and Guns N’ Roses’ Welcome to the jungle. Facebook says that there are hundreds of popular songs users can lip sync to.

Go live by pressing the play icon located on top.

As you lip sync to songs, your friends on Facebook will be able to comment on your live video.

After you’re done with the Lip Sync Live, you can post and share the video on your feed.

Lip Sync Live will be available with other features on Facebook Live like adding a description before starting it. You can add filters and masks while you lip sync on Facebook Live. In addition to this, your friends on Facebook can tap on the artist during your Lip Sync Live and follow their page.

Facebook’s latest feature draws ‘inspiration’ from apps like Dubsmash and musical.ly which took over the internet generation by storm. Both apps let users lip sync to popular songs and share it with the respective communities. These apps also come with additional tools to edit videos in various ways.

They don’t limit to only lip syncing songs as the apps especially, musical.ly which has seen many dance videos as well. Users can also lip sync to famous dialogues from movies and TV shows.
