Fortnite for Android: Here are the compatible smartphones

Fortnite is coming to Android pretty soon. According to reports, the game will be initially exclusive to Samsung Galaxy Note 9 and then rolled out to other platforms. Fortnite is currently only available for iOS mobile platform. Ahead of the Android debut, Epic Games, the studio behind Fortnite, has disclosed which phones will be eligible for the viral game.
Fortnite will be available for the following phones – Google Pixel 2, Pixel 2 XL, Huawei Mate 10, Pro and Lite, Huawei Mate 9 and Pro, Huawei P10, P10 Plus, P20 Lite, Huawei P9 and Huawei P9 Lite, Huawei P8 Lite (2017), LG G6, LG V30/V30+, Motorola E4 Plus, Motorola Moto G5, G5 Plus, G5S, Motorola Moto Z2 Play, Nokia 6, Razer Phone, Samsung Galaxy A5 (2017) and Samsung Galaxy A7 (2017), Samsung Galaxy J7 Prime, Pro, 2017, Samsung Galaxy Note 8, Samsung Galaxy On7 (2016), Samsung Galaxy S9, S9+, Samsung Galaxy S7, Samsung Galaxy S7/S7 edge, Samsung Galaxy S8/S8+, Sony Xperia XA1/Ultra/Plus, and Sony Xperia XZ, XZs, XZ 21.
You can also check the eligibility for Fortnite on your phone by visiting Epic Games’s sign up page for the game. The studio is expected to add other Android phones to the list in the coming weeks.
Based on the listing, it appears that the minimum specifications requirement to play Fortnite on Android will be 3GB of RAM and the latest chipsets and graphics like Qualcomm Snapdragon 430, MediaTek MT6737 and Exynos 7870 among others, reports XDA developers.
Fortnite and Samsung Galaxy Note 9
Similar to Apple’s Mario Run launch, Fortnite is expected to launch on Android with Samsung Galaxy Note 9, which is scheduled to launch on August 9 at an event in New York. Fortnite is likely to be the benchmark game for Samsung to showcase the graphics prowess of its new flagship phone.
Ahead of the August 9 launch, reports suggest that the Samsung Galaxy Note 9 will come with top-of-the-line processor Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 845 or in-house Exynos 9810 processor paired with 8GB RAM and 256GB storage. And for games and other graphic-intensive content, the phone will have vapour chamber heat pipe for cooling and prevent overheating. The phone is also expected to come with a larger 4,000mAh battery – highest battery capacity on a Galaxy Note phone ever.
