Google's way of commemorating important days through doodles is no surprise. Missing no beat, Google India has a special doodle on its home page on Children's Day today, sketched by an 11 year old Pune girl. Anvita Prashant Telang, a sixth grader from Vibgyor High School in Balewadi was recently adjudged the winner of the 'Doodle 4 Google'.

The contest, themed -"If I could teach anyone anything, it would be" drew entries from over 50 cities across the country, which were evaluated on artistic merit, creativity and theme communication as well as their unique and novel approach to the Doodle.

"With 'Doodle 4 Google' competition, we aim to promote creativity, passion and imagination in younger users. We congratulate Anvita for being judged as the winner this year," said Sapna Chadha, Head of Marketing, Google India, in a statement.

Children's day is celebrated commemorating the birth anniversary of India's first Prime Minister Pt Jawaharlal Nehru, fondly remembered as 'Chacha Nehru'.
