Huawei’s sub-brand Honor on Tuesday announced the global variant of its Honor 10. The smartphone, which first launched in China last month, is one of the first Huawei phones to come with a notch-display, inspired by Apple’s iPhone X. Huawei recently adopted the notch display for its new P20 series of phones as well.
Apart from an iPhone X-inspired screen, Honor 10 also has a bottom bezel similar to Huawei P20 phones. Another big highlight of Honor 10 is Qualcomm’s ultrasonic fingerprint sensor which is placed at the bottom bezel. There’s also a fingerprint sensor on the back which the company claims can unlock the screen even with wet fingers.
Honor 10 is also big on design. The smartphone comes with a new ‘3D Aurora Curved’ technology on the smartphone which shows a reflective colour changing design from every angle. The smartphone is available in four colour options of black, grey, phantom green and phantom blue.
Honor 10: Price, availability
Honor 10 is available in two storage variants of 6GB RAM plus 64GB storage priced at € 399 (Rs 32,200 approximately), and the 128GB model retailing at €499 (Rs 36,400 approximately).
In India, the 6GB RAM plus 128GB model of Honor 10 will be available exclusively via Flipkart with pre-orders starting tonight at 12.00 am. This variant is priced at Rs 32,999.
Honor 10 offers
Honor 10 will be available with exchange offers on Honor devices up to Rs 5,000 and Rs 3,000 for others. This offer will be live from May 16 till May 18. Bajaj Finserv users can also avail no cost EMI on May 16 only. Axis Bank credit and debit card holders will get 10% instant cashback which is applicable even on EMI transactions.
Reliance Jio users can avail cashback of Rs 1,200 along with 100GB of additional data and benefits worth Rs 3,300.
Honor 10 specifications
Honor 10 flaunts a 5.84-inch full HD+ edge-to-edge display with an aspect ratio of 19:9. Under the hood of the smartphone runs in-house octa-core Kirin 970 processor. In the photography department, Honor 10 sports a dual-camera setup at the rear which includes 16-megapixel and 24-megapixel sensors. The AI-based dual-cameras feature an LED flash, PDAF and f/1.8 aperture. It also comes with 3D ‘Portrait Lighting’ feature.
For selfies, there’s a 24-megapixel camera with f/2.0 aperture. On the software front, the smartphone runs on Android 8.1 Oreo with EMUI 8.1 layered on top. Honor 10 is fuelled by a 3,400mAh battery along with support for fast charging. Honor claims that the smartphone can charge up to 50% within 25 minutes. Connectivity options on Honor 10 include 4G LTE, USB Type-C port, 3.5mm audio jack, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 4.2.
