Honor 7S budget smartphone launched in India: Price, specifications

Honor 7S comes with features like an 18:9 display, face unlock and Android 8.1 Oreo based on EMUI 8.0.

Honor on Tuesday added a new budget smartphone to its portfolio. Honor 7S has been launched at Rs 6,999, and it will be available on September 14 exclusively via Flipkart.

Honor 7S comes in three colour options of black, blue and gold. Honor 7S is currently the cheapest offering from the company’s smartphone lineup. Honor 7S will compete against smartphones like Xiaomi’s Redmi 5A which starts at Rs 5,999 in India.

Honor 7S specifications

Honor 7S features a 5.45-inch HD display with 18:9 aspect ratio. Under the hood of the smartphone runs a MediaTek MT6737 processor paired with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage. Also on offer is a microSD card for further expansion up to 250GB.

For photography, Honor 7S sports a 13-megapixel rear camera with f/2.2 aperture, PDAF and LED flash. Up front, it houses a 5-megapixel camera with f/2.2 aperture and soft flash. The brightness of the front flash can be adjusted to seven levels. Some of the camera features available include HDR mode, beauty mode, and panorama.

On the software front, it runs Android 8.1 Oreo based on EMUI 8.0 out-of-the-box. Honor 7S is fuelled by a 3,020mAh battery claimed to offer up to 10 hours of internet access, 62 hours of music playback and 13 hours of video playback. The smartphone doesn’t have a fingerprint sensor. It offers ‘Smart face Unlock’ as a security option.

Honor 7S offers a triple SIM slot support two SIMs and a microSD card at the same time. Other connectivity options on the smartphone include Bluetooth 4.2, Wi-Fi, Wi-Fi Direct and a 3.5mm audio jack.
