Mark Zuckerberg co-founded what is now the biggest social media platform, Facebook. Zuckerberg has been hogging the limelight for the past year now but for the wrong reasons. The Cambridge Analytica scandal which shook Facebook was like a key to unlock skeletons in the company’s closet. Zuckerberg has since then been embroiled in data privacy cases.

Today, however, the social media shark can take a break and celebrate his 35th birthday. On the occasion of Zuckerberg’s birthday, here are five things you need to know.

Harvard dropout

Zuckerberg created Facebook when he was a student in Harvard University. He however dropped out of the university to work on Facebook full time. 12 years later in 2017, Zuckerberg returned to collect his honorary doctor of laws degree from Harvard University.

New Year resolutions

Like most people, Zuckerberg also makes New Year resolutions every year. Zuckerberg’s resolutions mostly involve personal goals like wearing a tie to work every day in 2009, and learning Mandarin the following year. In 2019, Zuckerberg announced he would host public debates where he wants to discuss the effects of technology on society.

Jarvis AI

Back in 2016 Zuckerberg developed his Iron Man inspired Jarvis AI. Zuckerberg’s AI can control his main appliances at home including lights and even his toaster. The virtual assistant can also play music according to his or his wife Priscilla’s preferences. Zuckerberg also made the code public for developers to build their own Jarvis AI assistants.

Mark Zuckerberg vs Elon Musk

Zuckerberg has one of the most popular feuds with fellow billionaire, Elon Musk. What started as a partnership soon resulted into both Zuckerberg and Musk taking a jibe at each other. Facebook’s $200 million satellite which took off in one of Musk’s rockets exploded. This led to Zuckerberg blaming SpaceX for their satellite, while Musk being eccentric as he is responded saying that a free launch was given to them.

Self-made billionaire

Mark Zuckerberg held the title of the youngest self-made billionaire for the longest time. The Facebook co-founder and CEO reached $1 billion back in 2008 when he was just 23 years old. Kylie Jenner recently beat Zuckerberg to become the youngest self-made billionaire.
