OnePlus has a strange product launch cycle where it introduces a better version of its flagship phone in mere six months. OnePlus 6 is going to be no exception. According to a report, OnePlus is going to launch a newer model of its OnePlus 6 in October.

New phone, conveniently dubbed as OnePlus 6T, will be rolling out in the US via T-Mobile, reports CNET. While there will be an unlocked version for the US and global market, OnePlus is working on a model that has been especially optimised for the T-Mobile network. This means the phone will support the telecom operator’s 600 megahertz band which is said to be faster. OnePlus 6T is going to be priced higher at $550 (Rs 38,300 approximately), but it may not be the final price, the report added.

The report is in line with OnePlus’ plans to go aggressive in the US market where it is yet to become a household name like Apple or Samsung. CEO Pete Lau earlier this year had hinted at working with the local telecom player for a better presence in the US.

After having succeeded in the Chinese and Indian markets, OnePlus has been aiming at the Western market for quite some time. The company chose London as the launch bed for its current flagship phone, OnePlus 6.

As far as the newer model goes, one can expect incremental upgrades over the current phone. According to reports, OnePlus 6T will have a smaller notch than the one in OnePlus 6. Apart from minor design change, expect top-end specifications like Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 SoC and RAM up to 8GB.
