Food delivery service Swiggy on Tuesday launched its membership programme ‘Swiggy SUPER’ which will give users unlimited free deliveries.

This subscription-based programme is rolling out to limited Swiggy users in select cities. If you’ve received this offer, you will see a banner of ‘Swiggy SUPER’ on the app.

Swiggy SUPER is available with two subscription plans for one month and three months. Subscription for one month is priced between Rs 99 and Rs 149. Users can subscribe to the three-month plan priced at Rs 249 and Rs 349. The rates for these plans will differ from city to city depending on the consumer payment behaviour. The company says that it will study how the subscription plans work and accordingly make changes.

In addition to this, Swiggy SUPER will also have no surge fee on orders placed during rains or high demand. The company also promises quicker processes to solve issues for users under this membership programme.

Swiggy’s subscription programme isn’t widely available as yet. It has been rolled out to over two lakh users for now across seven cities. The food ordering company is operational in 17 cities. Swiggy says that the membership programme will be available to all users in rest of the cities between September and October.

The company will be introducing new features under this programme soon. These will include exclusive benefits and offers from partner restaurants and payment firms. Users can watch this space for updates.

Swiggy’s competitor, Zomato also has its own membership programme called ‘Zomato Gold’. The offers differ as Zomato Gold membership gives users benefits such as 1+1 on food and 2+2 on drinks in partner restaurants. It starts at Rs 999 for three months, Rs 1,679 for 12 months and Rs 2,799 for 24 months.

Swiggy recently rolled out its ‘POP’ feature which caters to users looking for single meal orders at low rates. Swiggy POP meals are curated from different restaurants around the user’s location and ranging between Rs 99 and Rs 200.
