Vivo V11 Pro is the company’s latest smartphone in India. The smartphone stands out for its tiny waterdrop notch and in-display fingerprint sensor.
The waterdrop notch is an upgrade over the existing notch as it is tinier, curvier and takes up lesser space. The in-display fingerprint sensor was first introduced by Vivo earlier this year. It allows users to unlock the phone by just tapping on the screen. It is also available in Vivo Nex and X21 smartphones in India.
Vivo V11 Pro specifications
Vivo V11 Pro features a Full HD+ 6.4-inch Super AMOLED display. It runs a Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 processor under its hood paired with 6GB of RAM and 64GB of onboard storage. For photography, it has a dual-camera setup of 12-megapixel and 5-megapixel cameras, and a 25-megapixel front camera.
On the software front, it runs Android 8.1 Oreo with FunTouch OS on top. Vivo V11 Pro is fuelled by a 3,400mAh battery along with support for fast charging.
Vivo launched its first V-series smartphone with an in-display fingerprint sensor. The smartphone has a 6.4-inch ‘Halo FullView’ display, Snapdragon 660 SoC, 6GB of RAM and 64GB of onboard storage. It is priced at Rs 25,990, and will be available on September 12.

Vivo V11 Pro comes with AI scene recognition. It can automatically recognise different scenes and optimises camera settings. The phone also uses AI for portrait shots. It has 25-megapixel AI selfie camera. It also has an AI Face Shaping for automatic image correction. The camera also uses AI to customise photos for different studio lighting. It also supports Face Unlock. With infrared face access, you can unlock phones in dark light conditions.
Vivo V11 Pro comes with dual rear cameras, featuring 12-megapixel and 5-megapixel sensors. The AI powered rear cameras come with Dual Pixel sensors for better photography in low-light conditions. The cameras also come with AI Backlight HDR for better portrait shots.
In-display fingerprint sensor
Vivo says the in-display fingerprint sensor makes it easier and faster to unlock the phone. Vivo V11 Pro in-display fingerprint sensor is said to be 50% faster than on Vivo Nex’s.
Vivo V11 Pro comes with 6.41-inch Super AMOLED Display with 91.27% screen-to-body ratio -- highest on any Vivo smartphone.
Vivo’s product head Paigham Danish says its older Vivo V9 was a big hit. The smartphone came with FullView Display 2.0, rear dual-camera, and 24-megapixel front-facing camera.
Made in India
Vivo says its new phone will be manufactured at its facility in Greater Noida. It will be the first time Vivo will locally produce premium phones at a big scale.
In-display fingerprint sensor
Vivo claims users prefer in-display fingerprint sensor for unlocking phone over any other mode.
Nipun Marya says Vivo dominated the Rs 20,000-Rs 25,000 segment in India. With Xiaomi’s foray in the segment, it will be interesting to see how Vivo maintains its lead.

Fast charging technology
A lot of phones support fast charging. Most of them either have propriety solutions or rely on Qualcomm’s Quick Charge. Vivo has been teasing “dual-engine fast charging” which hints at two separate batteries under the hood.
Just like Huawei and Realme, Vivo aims to woo style enthusiasts with its new phone. Based on teasers, Vivo V11 Pro may come with a premium design. We already know that the phone will have a waterdrop notch on the front. We can expect unique take on the back panel as well.

Vivo V11 Pro processor
Vivo V11 Pro will be powered by Qualcomm’s 660 processor. This 600-tier SoC comes with features for artificial intelligence, gaming, and faster LTE speeds.
