Xiaomi expands its phablet series with the launch of the Mi Max 3. Xiaomi Mi Max 3 was launched in China today, and it starts at a price of CNY 1,699 (Rs 17,400 approximately) for the base model, and CNY 1,999 (Rs 20,500 approximately). The smartphone will go on sale from July 20 in China.
Xiaomi Mi Max 3 comes with a big display and battery like its predecessor, Mi Max 2. The company has however upgraded the Mi Max 3 with an 18:9 display and also a dual-camera setup. The smartphone comes in three colour options of meteorite black, dream gold and dark blue.
Xiaomi Mi Max 3 specifications
Xiaomi Mi Max 3 features a 6.9-inch display with 1080 x 2160 pixels and 18:9 aspect ratio. There’s also a 2.5D curved glass covering the display. Under the hood of the smartphone runs Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 636 processor. In terms of storage there are two variants of Mi Max 3 starting with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of onboard storage.
The top model comes with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of onboard storage. There’s also a microSD card slot for further expansion of storage.
In the photography department, Xiaomi Mi Max 3 sports a dual-camera setup at the rear comprising of 12-megapixel Sony IMX363 sensor with f/1.9 aperture and a 5-megapixel sensor. For selfies, the smartphone offers an 8-megapixel camera with f/2.0 aperture and LED flash.
Connectivity options on the smartphone include dual SIM support, dual 4G VoLTE, USB Type-C port, a 3.5mm audio jack, Bluetooth 5.0 and Wi-Fi. On the software front, Mi Max 3 runs Android 8.0 Oreo with MIUI layered on top. The smartphone is fuelled by a 5,500mAh battery.
