Last Wednesday, PMLN-N leader Sardar Ayaz Sadiq had said Pakistan released Wing Commander Abhinandan Varthaman as it feared an attack from India. Army chief General Qamar Javed Bajwa’s legs were shaking, Sadiq had said.

According to reports, Ahmed Khan, a subedar with the Pakistan Army’s Special Service Group, was killed by the Indian Army in Nakyal sector of the LoC on August 17 when he was trying to facilitate more infiltrators into India.

The Indian Air Force (IAF) rubbished the report in Foreign Policy magazine, saying Wing Commander Abhinandan Varthaman, who was at the controls of the Indian aircraft, out of which he ejected in the Pakistani side of the Line of Control before the Russian-designed plane crashed after taking a hit, had indeed shot down the plane and electronic signatures indicated that it was an F-16.
