Pakistan vs Afghanistan Highlights, World Cup 2019: Pakistan edge Afghanistan by 3 wickets in last-over thriller

As it happened: Imad Wasim helped Pakistan snatch victory from the jaws of defeat as his 54-ball 49 helped them beat Afghanistan by three wickets. Mujeeb Ur Rahman and Mohammed Nabi scalped two wickets each for Afghanistan but skipper Gulbadin Naib’s 46th over cost them the game as the pacer went for 18 runs in the over. Earlier, Shaheen Afridi claimed four wickets to restrict minnows Afghanistan to a modest 227 for nine from 50 overs. Asghar Afghan and Ikram Ali khil built a 64-run stand before Afghan was cleaned up by leg-spinner Shadab Khan for 42. Wicketkeeper-batsman Alikhil (24) holed out to left-arm spinner Imad Wasim but Najibullah Zadran’s scored a patient 54-ball 42 to take the Afghans past the 200-mark. Afridi returned to remove Zadran and Rashid Khan to finish as pick of the Pakistan bowlers with 4-47.

India vs Afghanistan, World Cup 2019 highlights: Shami’s last-over hat-trick fires India to 11-run win

Highlights: Mohammed Shami becomes the second Indian to take a World Cup hat-trick and in doing so, he has fired India to an 11-run victory. He scalped the wickets of Nabi, Alam and Mujeeb off successive deliveries and defended 16 runs off the last over. India remain unbeaten in the tournament. Earlier, Afghanistan bowlers restricted India to 224/8 in 50 overs. Mohammad Nabi and Gulbadin Naib scalped two wickets each. Virat Kohli and Kedar Jadhav slammed respective fifties but rest of the batsmen weren’t up to the mark.

Bangladesh were dismissed for just 119 and they lost the match by 136 runs. Earlier, Gulbadin Naib and Rashid Khan added 95 runs off just 56 balls to power Afghanistan to a total of 255 runs from their alloted 50 overs. Rashid Khan scored an unbeaten 57 off just 32 balls to take the attack to the Bangladesh bowlers in the last 10 overs.
