Physicists need to internalise that being allowed to follow one’s passion at taxpayers’ expense is a privilege. All accomplishments are a consequence of that privilege, and from that follows the responsibility to correct the injustices.

Noble Prize for Physics 2020: The Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences said that Briton Roger Penrose will receive half of this year’s prize “for the discovery that black hole formation is a robust prediction of the general theory of relativity”.
The Serum Institute, which was founded in 1966, is now the world’s largest manufacturer of life-saving vaccines by the number of doses, producing more than 1.5 billion doses a year that are used in over 170 countries.(University of Oxford)
