Sheikh Hasina, who is on a four-day visit to India, arrived at Ajmer Sharif Dargah in Rajasthan earlier in the day to offer prayers.
Among the recipients was Anuj Ekka, grandson of legendary war hero Albert Ekka, who posthumously was awarded the Param Vir Chakra, India’s highest military honour for valour, for his role in the Battle of Gangasagar.
The MoUs were signed in the presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his Bangladeshi counterpart Sheikh Hasina.

Bangladesh PM Sheikh Hasina arrived in New Delhi on Monday for her four-day state visit.
Asked specifically about what India can do on the issue of Rohingya refugees, Bangladesh Prime Minister Hasina said: “India is a big country. It can do a lot.”
In an interview with news agency ANI, Prime Minister Hasina, who will begin her four-day visit to India on Monday, lavished praise on the Modi government’s gesture of providing Covid-19 vaccines to neighbouring countries under its Vaccine Maitri programme at a time when the pandemic was raging.

Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina said in an interview that leading countries should always address disputes and differences through dialogue and she won’t interfere “if there is any problem between China and India.”
There have been several media reports about attacks and hostility against the minority Hindu population in Bangladesh. There were also reports of vandalism of Durga Puja pandals or Hindu temples.
Hasina asserted that because of this measured approach, her country was secure on the economic front. Bangladesh did not take any loan unless it was sure that it would benefit from the project undertaken, she said.
