A 40-year-old businessman was robbed of Rs 70 lakh allegedly by three men at gunpoint on Thursday in an audacious highway heist while travelling to Gurugram from the national capital, police said.

Seven men armed with iron rods and pistols allegedly barged into a businessman’s house in east Delhi’s Preet Vihar, held family members and the domestic help hostage, thrashed them and decamped with cash and jewellery worth around Rs 25 lakh early on Friday morning.
