In terms of revenue earned from registration of new vehicles and other activities other than enforcement, UP was on the top in July. The state earned a total Rs 424.53 crore of which Rs 387.80 crore came from registration of vehicles alone.

Car registrations down in Delhi for first time in 6 years

Data on car registrations indicated that except in 2017, demand in Delhi has been declining gradually over the years. This year, the decline in the number of registrations has accelerated to a steep 10.7%. Transport minister Kailash Gahlot said Delhi, one of the biggest markets for automobiles in India, has suffered in terms of revenue as well.

Car registrations were hit the most – 12,230 from April to June this year, compared to 14,432 in the first quarter of 2018.
