Dense February fog leaves weather experts surprised

In February, very dense fog has already been recorded for 3-4 hours. On Friday too, visibility at the Palam weather station fell below 50 metres. Other parts of the city also witnessed moderate fog.
The current spell of dense to very dense fog across the Indo-Gangetic plains is likely to reduce during the next 2-3 days.(PTI)

Dense fog engulfs parts of north India, mercury dips

Dense to very dense fog was recorded on Sunday over Punjab, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh and parts of Uttarakhand, Delhi and north Rajasthan. ‘Cold day’ to ‘severe cold day’ conditions occurred at most places over Punjab and Haryana and at isolated places over UP.

Rain, hail lash north India; hit rush hour traffic in Delhi

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) had forecast that Delhi could receive moderate rain from Monday night. The night temperature is expected to rise while the days are expected to get colder with the rain, said an IMD official.

Flights, trains delayed in Delhi amid fog, air quality slips to very poor

The national capital region witnessed light rains on Sunday as the air quality remained in the ‘very poor’ category. The rainfall at 8.30am was recorded at 4.3 mm, while the humidity level was 100%.
