Government to run Gymkhana club for now

M.M. Juneja, director general of the Ministry of Corporate Affairs, took charge of the club on Monday, “As of now we have implemented the order and will look into the issues,” Juneja said. “The case will go on further on merit in the NCLT.”

Dissent brews in Delhi Gymkhana over plan to counter govt takeover

The Club had been given till May 8 to file its response to a petition by the ministry of corporate affairs alleging “parivarwaad” (nepotism), financial irregularities, misuse of allocated land and issues related to membership as the primary reasons behind its move to acquire the Delhi Gymkhana Club.
According to the petition filed by the Government of India on Thursday, Delhi Gymkhana was registered under Section 26 of Companies Act in 1913, making it a “limited company”.(Mint file photo)
