DJB officials have sent several letters to the DDA in this regard in the past. However, no progress has been made in the process so far, Chadha said.

Delhi govt promises 24x7 water supply, will plug all revenue loss due to theft, leakages

Senior officials of the Delhi Jal Board said 24x7 supply of water would help bring down the share of non-revenue water – that which is lost due to leakage or tapped through illegal connections.

Penalty for not connecting houses to DJB’s sewer lines

According to the DJB, sewer lines have been installed in at least 60% of the geographical area of the national capital. At least 80% of the population has been covered.
The CM also directed the officials to restart more than 100 tube-wells which were lying non-functional. Directions were also issued to start all the booster pumping stations in the area.(HT Photo)

CM Arvind Kejriwal tells DJB to simplify ways to get water connections

Kejriwal, who is also the DJB chairman, also directed the water utility to solve water-related problems at Malviya Nagar and submit a report.
The national capital has over 1,700 unauthorised colonies with a population of around 40 lakh. Only around 14%-15% of these colonies have a sewerage network, as per the status report filed by the committee last year.(Ht Photo)

DJB may consider coercive steps to make people get sewer connections

The NGT-appointed Yamuna pollution monitoring committee in a meeting asked the water utility to consider taking such steps in colonies where sewerage connections have already been laid.
