CBSE Class 10, 12 exam fee for 3.14 lakh students to be paid by Delhi government

The cabinet took this decision in its meeting chaired by Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal. The scope and coverage of this decision is to give complete subsidy to the students towards CBSE Board exam fees.

Students of Delhi government and aided schools will not have to pay any fees for Class 10 and 12 CBSE examinations and the cost will be born by the city dispensation, Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia announced on Tuesday.

SC/ST students to pay Rs 50 exam fee, govt will pay rest

The board had recently hiked the examination fee for SC/ST candidates from Rs 375 to Rs 1,200 for Class 10 students and from Rs 600 to Rs 1,200 for class 12 students in Delhi government and aided schools.

“This major hike in fees is unconstitutional and totally against the right to education of students. This fee hike will be challenged soon in court. The CBSE is discharging public functions and is governed by Article 14 of Constitution and therefore bound to act proactive towards educational needs of children of masses,” All India Parents Association, Ashok Aggarwal said.
