SC refuses to entertain plea challenging decision to make FASTag mandatory

The government has made FASTag mandatory from February 15 midnight and any vehicle not fitted with it will be charged double the toll at electronic toll plazas across the country, the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways has said.

Following the implementation of the digital-only toll collection at the Kherki Daula toll plaza, the penalty collected from commuters not using FASTags has increased by four to five times on Tuesday and Wednesday, said officials

After FASTags, govt looks to remove speed breakers on national highways

FASTag is a radio frequency identification sticker typically fixed to a vehicle’s windscreen and allows the deduction of toll wirelessly and automatically without requiring a vehicle to stop at plazas.
