Taxes make up half of retail fuel prices: Data

The total of taxes on diesel add up to about 46% at Rs 28.06 per litre, and the total of other cost components is Rs 34.52 a litre, showed the data on fuel price components released after the Centre raised excise duties on the two fuels by Rs 3 on Saturday.

A Delhi Petrol Dealers Association (DPDA) statement said, “There are about 400 petrol pumps in Delhi which also have linked CNG pumps. Both will remain closed in protest from 6 am onwards on October 22 and remain closed till 5 am on October 23.”
