The pink polling booths will have only female staff, including presiding officers, polling officers, micro observers and security personnel. The booth at every centre can be distinguished by its entirely pink décor, including pink walls and table covers.

Lok Sabha elections 2019: In voting for first phase, big test for Akhilesh-Mayawati’s grand alliance

In the 2014 Lok Sabha elections, the BJP had won all the eight seats: Saharanpur, Kairana, Muzaffarnagar, Bijnor, Meerut, Baghpat, Ghaziabad and Gautam Buddh Nagar. That is when Mayawati’s Bahujan Samaj Party and Akhilesh Yadav’s Samajwadi Party were also on opposite side.
There was also a wave in favour of Narendra Modi in 2014 that helped the BJP net 71 of the state’s 80 seats, helping the BJP form the government at the Centre.(PTI)

Lok Sabha Elections 2019: The Bahujan Samaj party (BSP)-Samajwadi Party (SP) alliance has got a head start in campaigning for the Gautam Buddh Nagar seat for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, as it is the only party to have announced its candidate for the constituency.

Lok Sabha elections 2019: Gautam Budh Nagar administration identifying critical polling stations

In total, there are 953 polling centres and 2,408 polling stations in the GB Nagar parliamentary constituency. There will be 620 polling stations in Noida, 528 in Dadri, 388 in Jewar, 451 in Sikandrabad and 421 in Khurja.
