Penalties for ex-RS MPs overstaying in bungalows

The move comes a year after Parliament cleared a legislation—Public Premises (Eviction of Unauthorised Occupants) Amendment Bill, 2019-- for speedy eviction of unauthorised occupants of government accommodation.

Madhya Pradesh government to forcibly retire non-performing employees

Chief minister Kamal Nath on Friday asked the heads of all the departments to do a screening of the works done by all the officers and employees of their respective departments and prepare a list of underperforming and non-performing employees.

According to the list, non-performing officers, who have completed either 50 years of age or 20 years of service, will be given compulsory retirement, while others will be served show cause notice, an officer said.(HT Photo)

‘No retirement age in politics,’ says Sumitra Mahajan

Mahajan announced on April 5 that she would not contest the Lok Sabha elections. In a letter to BJP chief Amit Shah, she wrote that she has freed the party to make its choice for Indore seat.

Odisha govt to ‘disengage’ 50,000 retired employees

A government source said a decision to this effect was taken last month during a meeting of secretaries of all departments. Disengagement of retired persons from government services was a logical step when largescale recruitment was on in several departments, the source added.

The Maharashtra minorities commissionerate will be headed by minorities commissioner of IAS rank officer and will have under its wings Maulana Azad Minorities Financial Development Corporation (MAMFDC), Maharashtra State Board of Wakfs, Maharashtra State Haj Committee, Maharashtra State Urdu Academy and Maharashtra State Minorities Commission.

Govt’s optical fibre cable project BharatNet entangled in turf war

The BharatNet project has got entangled in Right of Way issues between the DoT and the ministry of road transport and highways. The roads ministry has denied permission to DoT to lay cable within highways RoW until the department pays the license fee.

BharatNet, launched in 2012, is aimed at promoting e-governance by delivering government services related to health and education , skills training and so on, to the rural poor. Until December 2017, only 100,000 gram panchayats had been connected through optic fibre cable under Phase I of the project .
