District education officer Premlata Yadav, on Friday, said that a fresh notice regarding closure had been sent to the schools and the department would file an FIR against the erring schools if they failed to comply with the notice, and opened on Monday.

The GMDA has stepped in to install at least 15 low-cost monitoring devices specifically to measure particulate matter pollution in Gurugram. GMDA officials confirmed on Tuesday that these would become active by March.

58-year-old woman first casualty of swine flu in Gurugram district

According to officials of the district health department, the woman was admitted on January 4 in a private hospital in the city with shortness of breath, a typical symptom of the influenza. She died later due to further complications.
