Swine flu claims 1,082 this year

There were 26,249 H1N1 cases and 1,082 deaths till June 30 this year, which is 70% more than the 15,266 cases reported till the end of 2018, according to IDSP data of the Union health ministry.

Pregnant women at higher risk of flu complications

While antiviral treatment is recommended within two days after the start of flu symptoms in people who aren’t at high risk for complications, the guidelines note they should be prescribed to those at high risk even if they have been sick for more than two days.
