KT Jaleel had moved the Kerala High Court on Monday, seeking a stay on the Lokayukta report which held him guilty of abusing his position of authority. However, on Tuesday, the minister forwarded his letter of resignation from the Kerala cabinet to the chief minister and the governor.

The ECI wrote to all state and national parties on Friday and said it takes "serious view of the laxity in maintaining norms, particularly not wearing masks by political leaders on stage" and it could ban them from holding rallies in case the situation does not improve.

“I have been confirmed Covid+ve. Will get treated at the Government Medical college, Kozhikode,” the CM tweeted. His office said he was asymptomatic but was shifted to the hospital, considering his age.
