Delhi LG nod to employ 10,000 home guards

Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena has approved the enrolment of over 10,000 personnel as Delhi home guards, with the selection process to be completed by March 2024. However, the LG has made changes to the recruitment process, including lowering the age limit to 45 years, raising the minimum qualification to Class 12, and giving preference to former civil defence volunteers. The Delhi government and LG's office have clashed over the services of CDVs, with legal objections raised about their appointment to regular jobs. CDVs have been protesting for several weeks over salary delays.

Delhi LG announces 800 cr upgrade for villages

Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena has laid the foundation stone for a sports complex in Qutabgarh village, Delhi. The project is part of plans to develop the village as a model village and will include multiple sporting facilities. Saxena also announced that all other villages in Delhi will be redeveloped at a cost of ₹800 crore. Additionally, Saxena visited Jaunti village to review ongoing developmental work in the region. The Bharatiya Janata Party welcomed the funding allocation, while the Delhi government stated that it has already taken steps to develop villages in the region.
