Vessels with casinos that are anchored in Mandovi river, can continue their operations for another six months from March 31 to September 30.

There are six offshore casinos in Goa, boats anchored in the Mandovi river that flows by the capital city. Other casinos are located inside five star hotels. It’s a 19-year-old industry of the state.

The study suspects that the river gets the mercury most likely from coal handling at Goa’s Mormugao Port though the mercury content in oysters was found to be within permissible limits.

Ailing Goa CM Manohar Parrikar inspected an under-construction bridge on Mandovi River in Panaji, the first time he has been seen in public since returning to the state on October 14. He later inspected work of a bridge over Zuari River near Agassaim village.
