A “Yakshagana” artist prepares prior to a performance in a theatre in Bangalore. A literal compound of yaksha (nature spirit) and gana (song or praise), Yakshagana is a form of theatre indigenous to Karnataka and also performed in Kerala’s Kasargod district.
