The Mysuru mayoral polls, scheduled to be held in June, were delayed by the Karnataka high court in view of the second wave of the coronavirus disease (Covid-19) pandemic and the related restrictions.

Karnataka clocks 13,800 new Covid-19 cases, 365 deaths in last 24 hours

Bengaluru has so far reported 11,80,182 infections and 14,688 deaths. There were 1,24,807 active cases. Mysuru district remained as the second major Covid-19 hot spot with 1,155 infections and 22 fatalities.

Mysuru city corporation commissioner Shilpa Nag on Thursday resigned from her post alleging harassment by her superior, Rohini Sindhuri, the deputy commissioner of the district, over coronavirus disease (Covid-19) management.

During the 10-day period, there will be relaxations on Monday (May 31) and Thursday (June 3) when all shops would be allowed to remain open between 6am and 12pm.

The consumption of the prasad (sanctified food) had resulted in the death of 14 people, with nearly 108 more still being treated for various symptoms across hospitals in Chamrajnagar and Mysuru districts of Karnataka.
